In California, it is not necessary to use an attorney for a divorce. This is especially true if you and your spouse believe there is a chance of working together to reach a fair settlement.
The paperwork required by the State of California for a Divorce or Legal Separation is overwhelming for almost everybody. It is time consuming, complicated and held to rigid standards by the Courts. We complete all the necessary paperwork and file everything in the appropriate county courthouse. You never have to worry if you have filled out the forms correctly or if you even have all the forms required for your process. We take care of everything and explain it along the way.
Divorce Document Assistance offers legal document preparation services by licensed and bonded Legal Document Assistants.
We are authorized by California law to provide assistance to members of the public who have chosen to retain control and represent themselves in legal matters.
We have over 30 years experience preparing legal documents and forms. We are an affordable alternative to hiring an attorney, and our resources and experience can save you thousands of dollars.
We offer assistance in preparing the following documents:
- Legal Separation
- Domestic Partnership
- Child Custody and Visitation
- Support Orders (Child and Spousal)
- Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO)

The majority of attorneys charge to work on your case on an hourly basis, with the average hourly rate being between $200 and $400. Attorneys with expertise in specialized areas (such as family law) may charge much more. In addition, you can expect that the attorney will also charge you at an hourly rate for paralegals and other support staff. The paralegal's time, for example, may be billed out at $100 to a $150 an hour, or perhaps more.
Our fees are based per document; not per an hourly basis as divorce attorneys charge. There are no hidden fees. Any and all personal information you provide Divorce Document Assistance with, will always remain completely confidential. We provide great customer service with 100% satisfaction.
